For the third time the biggest multihull event in the eastern Med is taking place. The area this time is the Bozburun Peninsula near Marmaris. The period of the event guarantees temperatures around 25 to 30 degrees and stable thermic winds. This way, the 2009 Multihull Sailing Week will again combine fun, racing, social gathering and tasty food.

Period
The 6-day-event starts on the evening of Saturday, May 9th, 2009 with a welcome drink and ends on Friday the 15th with the awards ceremony

Race area

The Bozburun Peninsula is located in the south-western Turkish Aegean Sea with picturesque scenery and dreamlike bays, which are reminiscent of the Norwegian fjords, yet with 25 degrees in the shadow and blue sky.
Prevalent winds in this season: West to North-West.

Terms of participation
Private and charter boats with a total length of more than 8 metres may take part, provided they are multi- hull boats (catamarans, trimarans).
Program
1. Saturday
Individual arrival in Marmaris / flight to Dalaman or Bodrum. Check in aboard. In the evening meeting of all participants with welcome party, snacks and drinks.
2. Sunday
Common trip/race from Marmaris to Bozukkale, ca. 25 sm. So all charter guests can become familiar with their boats. Dinner in a bay restaurant in Bozukkale.
3. Monday
Offshore race: Bozukkale to Dirsek round Cape Karaburun with view of the Greek island of Symi, ca. 15 sm. Dinner in a bay restaurant in Dirsek.
4. Tuesday
Race: Dirsek - Selimiye in the Gulf of Hisarönü, ca. 12 sm. Afternoon trip by bus round Bozburun Peninsula. Dinner with live music and Tombola in a restaurant.
5. Wednesday
Race: Selimiye - Dirsek, round Koca Adasi in the Gulf of Hisarönü, ca. 16 sm.
6. Thursday
Offshore race: Dirsek to Bozukkale, ca. 12 sm. Late afternoon visit of the ancient citadel, ca. 2 hours foot walk. Evening barbecue in a bay restaurant.
7. Friday
Race from Bozukkale to Marmaris, ca. 25 sm. awards ceremony, beamer show of the past days, music etc.
Registration
Registration fee for each private catamaran: € 190
Registration fee for yachts comprises the complete organisation, berth- and marina charges for the whole period of the event, registration with authorities and the harbour captain, competition management.
Participation fee € 240,- per person
Participation fee for partaking persons will include six more-course dinners, entertainment programs, excursions, music, taking part in a tombola and a T-shirt with the logo of the Multihull Sailing Week
Not included: Journey to Marmaris, alcoholic drinks (except welcome drink), basic fees like Transit Log.

Monohull sailors who will participate in the event to see multihulls in action are welcome (except races). We help you get a boat from our partner companies. Monohull participants have only to pay the participation fee for each crew member.

Journey
The journey to Marmaris resp. to the place you take your charter boat is on one's own account. Transfer times and fees from the airports:
Dalaman-Marmaris (Transfer 1 1/2 h.), Taxi ca. € 80.-, Bodrum-Marmaris (Transfer 3-4 h.) or Izmir-Marmaris (Transfer: 4 h.).
Television and press photo shooting
Photos and videos of the participating yachts and groups of people taken during the event may be circulated without restriction (according to §23 of the copyright act).
Responsibility
The organizers cannot be made liable for any damages to persons or yachts on land or sea. People taking part in the races do so at their own risk. The organizers are explicitly excluded from any responsibility.
